The appointment of new judges of the COMESA Court of Justice has been temporarily halted by the Court. This follows an application for injunction lodged by a lawyer who had been nominated for appointment as a judge by the Republic of Ethiopia. The applicant alleges that there were some irregularities in the way the election process was handled by the Office of the Secretary General. The hearing of the application will be in May 2025.
