CCJ Staff Attend Staff Development Programme at Maiyan Sarova Hotel, Nanyuki, Kenya
From 4th to 8th March 2024, the registry staff of the COMESA Court of Justice participated in a staff development programme at Maiyan Sarova Hotel, Nanyuki, Kenya, facilitated by SOP Consultants, experts in corporate organization, and human resources.
The workshop focused on enhancing essential skills for optimizing work processes and flow efficiency at the CCJ, particularly emphasizing teamwork, proper planning and execution, time management, supervisory skills, and conflict resolution at the CCJ.
Mr. Shame Samuriwo, the Consultant, emphasized that planning is not just a task but a mindset critical for both short-term tasks and long-term strategies. Effective planning leads to prioritized tasks, seamless implementation, and enhanced productivity. He noted that proper planning, both organizationally and individually, is crucial for successful execution, saving time, and ensuring undivided focus on critical objectives.
The session on teamwork highlighted the crucial role of cohesive collaboration in achieving organizational goals. The importance of effective communication, competent team leadership, and other qualities were underscored as fundamental to fostering a harmonious and productive team environment.
Through a mix of theory and interactive exercises, staff gained actionable strategies to enhance their professional competencies and contribute meaningfully to the court’s mission and vision of becoming a world-class court promoting regional integration.
