There was dance, pomp and splendor in the capital of Sudan, Khartoum as hundreds of people witnessed the inauguration of a state of the art building belonging to the COMESA court of justice.

The government of the republic of Sudan on 5th March 2015 officially inaugurated the COMESA court of Justice building, located in the central Business district of Khartoum.

The COMESA Court of Justice building has been constructed and furnished by funds from the Government of Sudan to the tune of USD$ 5 million following a Decision of the COMESA Authority awarding the Republic of Sudan the right to host the COMESA Court of Justice.

This structure is a state of the art building that comprises of 2 courtrooms being the Court of First Instance and an Appellate Court, meeting rooms, offices of judges and administrative offices.

The COMESA Court of Justice, which has already relocated to Khartoum, from Lusaka where it was temporarily housed at the COMESA secretariat, was established under theCOMESA Treaty to ensure the adherence to law in the interpretation and application of the COMESA Treaty.

His Excellency Dr Hassabo Mohammed Abd El-Rahman, Vice President of the Republic of Sudan officially inaugurated the building.
